As the year draws to a close, I’d like to wish everyone the happiest of Holidays and a healthy & prosperous New Year.

As I look back on this year and all that we accomplished as a chamber I am very proud of all the things we were able to get done. With the help of our member CertaPro Painting, they cleaned & painted our Gazabo marking the completion of one of our beautification projects that we started.  We held occasional member meetings throughout the year and started a newer meeting approach called The Community Circle. This approach brought together members of the same industry. One successful one that comes to mind was the one regarding real estate. The meeting had mortgage brokers, bankers, real estate agents’, lawyers, etc. be available to residents looking to sell or purchase commercial or residential properties within the Mt. Sinai – Miller Place area in our efforts to further help local businesses and residents come together.

Our relationship with Heritage Park is wonderful. They allow us to participate in functions they have during the year so we can promote to residents the importance of supporting local businesses and letting them know of any meeting or event we are having as well. New businesses are opening in our area and becoming members. We encourage everyone to visit and support them now and throughout the upcoming year.

By visiting our website, www.msmpchamber.com you can see we held ribbon cutting ceremonies for them and promoted them on all our social media platforms. Finally, we held our annual Shop Small Business event (that we called Buyer Bucks this year). Instead of residents doing it on one day only, we encouraged residents to shop & eat locally for the month of November. Any resident who spent $30 or more at any business that participated in this event had an opportunity to fill out an entry form and win $500. This year’s winning ticket came from a customer of Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse in Miller Place.

In closing, we are always looking for our members and community to support us in our endeavors by volunteering your time to help us in a variety of ways. More community involvement is imperative if we are to sustain our Chamber. If interested, please contact us and we will be happy to speak with you.

Teamwork makes the dream work!
