Another beautiful summer here on Long Island. Here at the Chamber, we participated at events in collaboration with the North Shore Youth Council who has taken over the stewardship at the Heritage Park in Mt Sinai. On Memorial Day weekend, we sponsored the Murph Challenge at the park. The park had 2 fun movie nights that brought out hundreds of people to enjoy delicious food from our local food trucks and great family movies. Our Chamber has taken on much needed beautification efforts in our area. The gazebo and surrounding landscaping that is located at the corner of Crystal Brook Hollow Road and 25A has deteriorated over the past few years. In collaboration with the Mt. Sinai Civic Association, we are in the process of cleaning up the area and working on the repair the gazebo’s roof, as well as a full painting of the structure. North Shore Youth Council has offered to donate and help us with Fall plantings of mums to top off our beautification for the upcoming Autumn season.
To kick off the Autumn season, we will be having our monthly meeting, “So Long Summer! Sunset & Sips at Cedar Beach” in Mt. Sinai on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $10.00 per person. Please R.S.V.P and pay on our website here. This is an open meeting, and you are welcome to bring collogues and friends.
For the months of September & October we will be visiting local businesses to encourage them participate in our” Celebrate Small Business – Shop Local for a chance to win $500!” When a local business signs up to participate, they will be promoted on our website as a participant in the contest. When you visit their establishment in the month of November, and spend a minimum of $25, you will receive an entry to submit for the contest. We will pick the winner the first week in December. This endeavor is our annual membership drive, as well as a way to drive local residents to our local businesses. It’s a win-win for all!
Our annual holiday party will be on Thursday, December 08, 2022, at the Heritage Center in Mt Sinai. Our year end party is always so much fun with great people, food, silent auction, entertainment and so much more. Look out for the link to R.S.V.P. in the near future.
